How long have you been producing music and how did you learn?

I've been mixing for about five years. I learned it because other audio engineers were slacking on my mixes.

What DAW(s) do you use and why?

I use Pro Tools because that's what I heard was standard and fell in love with it.

What are your favourite pieces of gear and why?

I currently have the Neumann U87, and my Portico II Channel. I use the Babyface mini as my audio interface.

What are your favourite software plugins and why?

I love the SSL Channel, REQ, Auto-tune Evo, and the Izotope Mastering software.

How would you summarise your approach/workflow when creating a track?

I have a few different techniques; sometimes I like to find the beat on Youtube or SoundCloud and then I start thinking of a concept. I may scat some melodies and flows then write wordplay to make the writing process easier. This allows me to already have the words I want to use.

What resources do you use to improve your craft?

YouTube, Instagram, tutorials, and the Brandman Network.

What is the last YouTube tutorial you watched that you would recommend to other Re-Ex Members?

What knowledge or advice do you wish you'd learned earlier?

Don't wait on anyone; you have to be able to do it yourself and not rely on people.

What challenges related to making music do you face and how do you overcome them?

Executing my gameplan; I have a habit of having the music done and the gameplan fleshed out but then I end up procrastinating on the deadlines.

Can you share any killer tips or techniques?

For writing, working on wordplay is a great technique to halt the writer's block. Sometimes I mute videos and watch rap or hip-hop video playlists and come up words based off of the visuals from the video. Another technique is scatting; saying gibberish words to find flows and melodies that you wouldn't come up with normally if you were just writing to the beat.

Do you try and get feedback or suggestions to improve your music? If so, how?

If I need to find the BPM of a beat, I use a BMP software or I use keyfinder to get the autotune key for a track.

Do you try and get feedback or suggestions to improve your music?

I'm always researching and listening to interviews and tutorials. YouTube is king for that stuff.

Which track are you most proud of and why?

Ha! I don't have a favorite. I really appreciate the process but I have a song called 'To The Top' and I love how I mixed it.

Has RepostExchange affected the way you make music? If so, how?

Repost put my SoundCloud on steroids! That's a fact, and real engagement is really dope.
