I’ve been making music for about five years now. I learned from watching various YouTube videos.
I use FL Studio 12, this is the DAW I’m most comfortable using. I tried other DAWs but FL’s interface and piano roll stood up to me.
My favourite gear is my M-Audio Oxygen 49 because for me it has a reasonable amount of keys and pads for producing decent music. I never feel out of space because this MIDI keyboard has 49 keys.
I used stock plugins, to begin with, and I’m fine with that. I always try to maximize my resources. FL’s stock plugins are wild if you put your time and effort into experimenting with them.
I usually start with the drop or hook of a track I’m doing. But sometimes, I build the vibes of the track before making the hook.
I try to improve my skills by only watching YouTube tutorials, which is pretty straightforward. You can learn anything on the internet nowadays if you have the time.

How to mix and master a track.
When I’m struck with producer’s block, I take a rest for a while and ignore music for a few days and try to find inspiration from other mediums of entertainment.
Always have a reference track!
