In the Mix: DJ LEX GREEN
Jaz from the RepostExchange Team

First up this year, we’re featuring long-time RepostExchange member DJ LEX GREEN. A House pioneer and radio mainstay who has been active since the nineties, LEX caught up with the Re-Ex team to discuss his musical roots, dream festivals, and the secret to a perfect mix. Read on to learn more about the man behind the hit 'Latin Fever' and his advice for the next generation of DJs!

How did you first get into DJing, and what inspired you to pursue it as a career?

I was born and raised in Munich and currently reside in Switzerland. My first encounter with electronic music was in the 90’s, but that was just the beginning of a bigger journey without ending. I want to share the feeling of life that house music brings with other people.

Who were your biggest musical influences growing up?

In my youth, I listened to rap and hip-hop, and of course rock. But, since the mid-nineties I've listened first to techno and then later to house music. Electronic music has inspired me a lot.

If you could DJ any event in the world, which one would it be and why?

For me, Cafe Mambo in Ibiza would be the best, but the Ants Festival or Tomorrowland would also be amazing.

How do you approach creating a new mix? Is there a story or theme you often follow?

I let myself be inspired and then try to build and experience the mix as perfectly as possible.

What's the most challenging part of putting together a cohesive mix?

The structure of the mix and, of course, the sound selection. The mix should always tell a wonderful story.

What software or equipment do you prefer using when recording your mixes?

My Pioneer DJ controller XDJ-RX2 and Traktor Pro 4.

What advice would you give to any budding DJs out there?

Believe in yourself and never give up. The beginning is hard, but when it works out, it's always more worthwhile. Always persevere.

How do you handle song requests during a live set?

Difficult question, you play what you have!

Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations we should be on the lookout for?

Of course, I do a lot of mixing and also my own tracks. You can hear my mixes and my passion on many different radio shows worldwide, and I also play live in Konstanz (Germany) and in Switzerland.

I also support other DJs who send me a guest mix, which I then upload to my Soundcloud page.

How do you decide which tracks or artists to repost? Do you have certain criteria?

I simply have to like it, and then the support will come all by itself.

Have you discovered or collaborated with any artists through RepostExchange?

I've discovered many artists on RepostExchange, something will definitely come of it.

Can you share a specific track or mix that gained significant traction due to RepostExchange?

My mix for Estacion Ibiza Radio (CO) from March 22, 2025, The Finest in House Vol. 110. It was very well received. Amazing!

And of course the track 'Latin Fever' with my best partner and also best friend Mau Bacarreza.
