Certain members purchased followers with the sole intention of increasing their earnings on RepostExchange. This practice is basically equivalent to stealing credits from other members and is why we are taking it extremely seriously.
Our FollowScore algorithm has been upgraded to detect unusually sharp increases in follower numbers. Suspicious increases are manually examined, and if it is established that these followers are fake, members will be banned.
It's simple - don't buy fake followers.
It will NOT benefit you, they are EASY to spot and they will NEVER go away.
After a successful trial with 5k+ accounts, campaign earnings for members with more than 2.5k followers will now be determined by their FollowScore.
The FollowScore algorithm scans ALL followers of an account and identifies fake, suspicious and low quality followers. It assigns a score out of 100 which is used to determine campaign earnings.
For example, a member with 20k followers and a FollowScore of 80 out of 100, will earn:
The vast majority of 2.5k+ accounts on RepostExchange have a FollowScore of 100 (well done). However some members score much lower. The new system means the credits they can earn from your campaigns will also be much lower, despite them having a high reach (on paper).
No, we’ve decided to keep this information private. But you can be assured that the amount a large account can earn from your campaigns is based on the quality of their followers.
If your SoundCloud account has over 2,500 followers you will receive an email within 12 hours of signing up containing your FollowScore and details of how the new system will affect you.
