How long have you been producing music and how did you learn?
I started this path in music in 2016. Initially, I learned using online track creation programs, such as Looplabs and Soundtrap; with them, I composed my first tracks. In 2017 I started using Mixcraft, that year I created my first project 'Dark Noise' with it which, on October 31, 2019, I released the album 'Temple of the Sinisters', a date very related to the style of music created which was based on darkness and pagan beings.
At the end of 2019, since the 'Dark Noise' project reduced the options to create, due to its atmospheres and complex structure, I created my current project 'DNOIX', which I obviously named referring to the original 'Dark Noise'. 'DNOIX' fuses techno music with some more oriental passages. With this project, I have managed to consolidate my style of musical creation.
What DAW(s) do you use and why?
Currently, Ableton Live 10, since it allows me to have greater control of both the atmospheres that I want to create and the quality of the final sound, allowing total management of each track, achieving professional-level results
What are your favourite software plugins and why?
Some of my favorite Ableton audio effects are Filterstep 64, Filter Delay, Beat Repeat, TAL Flanger and for mastering, the Fabfilter Pro-Q3, with them we achieved my spatial sound.
How would you summarise your approach/workflow when creating a track?
Usually I start generating the synthesizers and basses that will compose the harmonies of the track, then I generate the layers of supporting drums. Having this, I start the musical structure, considering the breaks and the groove that I want to achieve, within the techniques that I use is the pattern rhythmic 'Four-on-the-floor', the use of abstract effects to achieve sound nuances and the use of multi-effects.
What resources do you use to improve your craft?
I research tutorials on YouTube, reviewing the official channels of cult artists that have inspired me in my career as a producer such as Aphex Twin, Orbital, and Kraftwerk.
What is the last YouTube tutorial you watched that you would recommend to other Re-Ex Members?
What knowledge or advice do you wish you'd learned earlier?
Basically the use of plugins to master the tracks and the correct use of some Ableton sound effects.
What challenges related to making music do you face and how do you overcome them?
Given my job as a Business Management Engineer, the daily challenge is the time and tranquility to create. Each track requires both physical and mental dedication to give the desired atmosphere.
Can you share any killer tips or techniques?
First as advice, if you have the concern to create music, which is fascinating, you must first define what you said from your own experience, what you want to achieve, given that in the musical universe there is so much variety of genres and styles. Always be creative, don't wait for it to 'be like' or 'sound like', how important the result to you seems successful, the acceptance of others will come in due course.
Do you use any online tools to assist with the production process?
More than anything I have downloaded some Cymatics packs.
Do you try and get feedback or suggestions to improve your music?
Of course, the feedback always allows us to achieve perfection, I review the comments we leave daily for my listeners and followers on my SoundCloud. In addition, I am fed back by the suggestions and comments we leave on my Instagram profile.
Which track are you most proud of and why?
All my creations make me proud, but I must choose one this is my new song 'WORLDING'. The cosmic atmosphere was great, and break generate a magnificent spiritual ascent, I love its created abstract rhythm.
Has RepostExchange affected the way you make music?
If I am very grateful to RepostExchange for their support and ability to consider talents as far away as my country Chile. My participation in the tracklisting for the Re-Ex Podcast Episode 29: with FROSTisRAD; thanks to the support of Jaz, was very emotional for me, generating the confidence I needed to believe in the projection of my creations. In addition, thanks to RepostExchange my reproductions in SoundCloud increased, going from 3k to 12k in less than six months. Thanks to RepostExchange and everyone who has reposted my tracks.
