How long have you been producing music and how did you learn?

I have been producing music for three and a half years. I was introduced to producing by a friend who was just starting as a producer at the time. Growing up I took piano lessons as I’ve always been intrigued by music production.

What DAW(s) do you use and why?

I use FL Studio and GarageBand because they both are simple to navigate through and have a lot of features.

What are your favourite software plugins and why?

My favourite software plugins are iZotope Ozone 9 and Slicex. I like to use iZotope to get the best mix for my beats. I like to use Slicex because it helps me create the perfect samples for my beats.

How would you summarise your approach/workflow when creating a track?

My approach to making a beat would be listening to different music for inspiration when I’m experiencing a beat block. My approach sometimes depends on either my mood at the time or the type of sound I’m going for my track.

What resources do you use to improve your craft?

I watch a lot of videos from Busy Works Beats, he has a lot of useful FL tutorials on his channel. Also, I try to work on beats or new music throughout the week.

What is the last YouTube tutorial you watched that you would recommend to other Re-Ex Members?

This video is helpful to those that would like to perfect mixing their beats on FL Studio.

What knowledge or advice do you wish you'd learned earlier?

Don’t do music for the money or clout. Do it out of passion and your love for music. Because If you can do that it will reflect through your music.

What challenges related to making music do you face and how do you overcome them?

I experience writer's block. Sometimes I overcome it by meditating or listening to some of my favourite songs.

Can you share any killer tips or techniques?

Stay consistent with releasing music and continue working hard to perfect your craft.

Do you use any online tools to assist with the production process?

Splice and Looperman are great resources that I use to find royalty-free samples and loops for my beats.

Do you try and get feedback or suggestions to improve your music? If so, how?

Yes, I’m always open to receiving feedback on my music and beats. I get feedback on my music from family and friends. I also share my music on my socials, giving listeners the opportunity to share their feedback on my music.

Which track are you most proud of and why?

The track that I’m most proud of is my song, Against Me. This song holds a special place in my heart and it has gotten a lot of great feedback from a lot of people. Against Me is available on all streaming platforms.
